ZOMBIES!!!

Scott Purdy [http://www.scottpurdy.net] has started a blog [http://beautifulflesh.blogspot.com/?zx=f3a3abe5b09eae3f] of zombie portraits, and was kind enough to ask me to join. Pop on over to see some really cool and disturbing art.
The pieces that I will be showing on this blog are paintings I am doing to fill a void left by the soul sucking effects of 15 years of freelance illustration. I hope to move these pieces into the lowbrow art scene, and perhaps to put out a book of these images with Scott.
The theme of these paintings, as the title of this post exclaims, is Harajuku Zombies. Harajuku Zombies are a combination of the two great passions of my life. 1) Zombies 2) Japanese pop culture. I want to combine the sickeningly sweet with the just plain sickening. I will also be throwing in all kinds of references to manga and anime, so if you are a fan keep your eyes peeled.
For those off you who do not know, Harajuku is a small area in Tokyo next to the Meiji Shrine. It is the epicenter of Tokyo fashion, and is a gathering place for the youth of Tokyo who show off their style and individuality. If you go there on a Sunday you will see some sights that will really blow your mind.
