Signed and numbered editions of Hymns & Wretched Offerings to the Golden Ones are now available from Bud Plant's Art Books. http://budsartbooks.com/prod.cfm/pc/HYMD/cid/0
I'm proud to be being carried by Bud Plant, one of the best book retailers it's been my privilege to purchase from since I was young.
Here's what Bud has to say about the book,"Revel in the dark arts with this gory hymnal filled with twisted visions! Loaded with cryptic illustrations by artists like Bob Eggleton, Mike Dubisch, Samuel Araya and others, this is like a nightmare between two covers. Reverencing the cosmic terror of writers like H.P. Lovecraft and Clark Ashton Smith, this is a harrowing trip through a twisted hellscape loaded with art, poems and eerie recitations."

I am so happy with the way the book turned out. The work that was submitted was tremendous, and the printing is fantastic.

All the t's are crossed and the i's are dotted. All the art is in the proper place and this beast is ready for the printer. I'm counting on continued support through Kickstarter, so it is going hardcover. That means for a $20 donation now you will get a signed $25 hardback with free shipping in October. So cough it up maggots. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/390343137/hymns-and-wretched-offerings-to-the-golden-ones

At long last, the tome is complete. With help from Creature Spot artists Allen Williams, Allison Theus, Christopher Burdett, Davi Blight, me (Jim Pavelec), Kim Feigenbaum, Mike Corriero, Mike May, Shreya Shetty, William B. Hand, and many other artists such as Sam Araya, Paul Komoda, and Bob Eggleton, the most disgusting book in centuries is about to unleash itself upon the world.
Since I have funded this entire project myself, I have started a Kickstarter account to help offset the cost of printing. So get your asses over there and help a demon out.

Hello all,
I am going to be publishing an art book of demons. Basically, the book is going to be a new grimoire. I'm not going to be using demons from any existing faith. I want to set up a new hierarchy and mythos, and just have a lot of fun drawing demons. I wanted to get other artists I really like in on the project so that it reall...y kicks ass.
These can be pieces that you've already done as long as you own the rights. I'm offering between $75 and $100 for one time rights. There's no tight deadline either.
What I'm looking for are drawings, even rough sketchbook stuff, or grayscale paintings of demons. There doesn't need to be any background. I want the demons to be very organic, so I don't want there to be lots of hand crafted armor and weaponry. There could be items made of bone and flesh and lumps of raw iron ore, just nothing with a super fine level of craftsmanship. Also, these demons can have heavy sexual overtones. I want the stuff you guys are afraid to show anyone else for fear they might lock you up.
So let me know if you have some old drawings lying around.
I'd love to hear any feedback you have.
Hope to hear from you soon.

Just back from World Fantasy Con where a piece I did for Magic: The Gathering garnered me an award in the art show. On the same weekend the Harajuku Zombies were making their second appearance in Chicago at the Hyde Park Arts Center. Not a bad weekend, especially since it also brought forth the premiere of The Walking Dead on AMC.

Gencon was a blast as always. It was great to see all of the artists again. One of my Harajuku Zombies paintings won the Artist Guest of Honor Tom Baxa's juror's choice award.
The gallery show at Rotofugi went well also. sold a few drawings. There's still some pieces left, so if you want some cool zombie art go to http://rotofugi.com/gallery/exhibits/ChicagoVariety2010/ and pick up one of the remaining pieces.

Great news,
I will be premiering the Harajuku Zombies at the prestigious Rotofugi Gallery in Chicago in August. When I find out the exact date I'll post it right away. I'm very excited about it.

Since we're nearing the release date of Ink Bloom I've uploaded some of my art from the book in the books section, so check it out.
I've also been working on a series of personal pieces called the Harajuku Zombies that you can see in the Concept Sketches section. I may have some very exciting news about them soon.
We debuted Ink Bloom at the C2E2 show in Chicago this weekend and the feedback was tremendous. It was a very exciting show for Chris and me.

I'm excited to announce the official website for Ink Bloom. Check it out at http://www.inkbloomadventure.com.
Right now it's just a homepage, but Chris' brother Dan has some great ideas for the site. We'll let you know once it launches.
Also the Ink Bloom blog http://www.hachihachimitsu.blogspot.com has a whole new look. Thanks Dan. It looks sweet.
The layout of the book is coming along nicely. Guy at Impact is doing a fantastic job, and the book should be ready to go to the printer at the end of the month. We're really excited on this end.

Chris and my creation has broken free and started her own Facebook page. Such a precocious youth, although technically she's much older than me.

Scott Purdy [http://www.scottpurdy.net] has started a blog [http://beautifulflesh.blogspot.com/?zx=f3a3abe5b09eae3f] of zombie portraits, and was kind enough to ask me to join. Pop on over to see some really cool and disturbing art.
The pieces that I will be showing on this blog are paintings I am doing to fill a void left by the soul sucking effects of 15 years of freelance illustration. I hope to move these pieces into the lowbrow art scene, and perhaps to put out a book of these images with Scott.
The theme of these paintings, as the title of this post exclaims, is Harajuku Zombies. Harajuku Zombies are a combination of the two great passions of my life. 1) Zombies 2) Japanese pop culture. I want to combine the sickeningly sweet with the just plain sickening. I will also be throwing in all kinds of references to manga and anime, so if you are a fan keep your eyes peeled.
For those off you who do not know, Harajuku is a small area in Tokyo next to the Meiji Shrine. It is the epicenter of Tokyo fashion, and is a gathering place for the youth of Tokyo who show off their style and individuality. If you go there on a Sunday you will see some sights that will really blow your mind.
